THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM IN HIS DEATH

As a continuation of our previous thoughts on Coming to the Knowledge of Jesus Christ, we would consider the last part of the Knowledge of our Loving Savior that Paul, his ambassador, highlights in the scripture below:

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

—Philippians 3:10

As we discussed the first two parts in the previous rotulus, (The Power of His Resurrection and The Fellowship of His Sufferings)—a background worth having before reading this rotulus, we will now see what the “Knowledge of the Conformity to His Death” brings.

ARE YOU STILL ROMAN CATHOLIC?

1. And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
2. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
3. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

—Revelation 13:1-4

There are certain terms we must understand in order to fully grasp the message being portrayed in this rotulus:

  • Beast: A “beast” in Bible prophecy represents a kingdom (Daniel 7:23)
  • Horn: A “horn” in Bible prophecy represents a king / kingdom (Daniel 8:21–22)

A STRONG DELUSION – PART 1

The word DELUSION, according to the dictionary, describes “an idiosyncratic belief or impression maintained despite being contradicted by reality or rational argument“. Another source, WebMD, says it is “an unshakable belief in something that isn’t true“. These are very relevant definitions; now consider how the bible defines strong delusion:

….because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:2 Thessalonians 2:10-11

PLURALITY OF GOD

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

—Genesis 1:1

How can the very first verse of the Bible be a case for assumption? The Hebrew word translated “God” is “Elohim” which is the plural of “Eloha“. Thus, one might assume plurality of gods; other verses from the same book of Genesis used to back up this claim are Genesis 1:26, Genesis 3:22, and Genesis 11:7 where the word “us” is used when God speaks.

However, we will look through the pages of scriptures to determine the true nature of God.

Is God One, Two, Three or Seven?

COMING TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS CHRIST

A man and wife relationship often begins with Courtship, which lasts for a while, after which the marriage proper follows. Altogether, these two events span many years and the two parties gradually begin to “know” each other—a  knowledge that they would never attain if they weren’t daily interacting and communing in an open-hearted fashion. The relationship with our bridegroom isn’t very different. After we may have known him in a perfect understanding of the Godhead (A perfect understanding of who He is, and what He represents to us), which is eternal life, then we begin to grow in the knowledge of Him.

JUDGE NOT…?

This phrase has fast become a cliché—even individuals who will never lift a finger to attempt to live by the holy scriptures quote this portion by default. It is often used to shut up any effort to lead from the way of destruction to Life.

Truly, scripture could be quoted to one’s damnation, particularly when it is misrepresented. The sleek serpent notoriously uses this means to arrest and seal his captives in deceits. Shocked that the devil deceives using the Holy Scriptures? Yes Sir! We find that the last age strategy of deceit as prophesied in Matthew 24:24, would be by men anointed to preach from the Holy Scriptures but a twisted and perverted version of it, and MANY, not few would be cart away through this sly stealth.

COSTLY ASSUMPTIONS – PART 1

Supposing He Was With Them

42. And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
43. And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
44. But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day’s journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
45. And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
46. And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

Luke 2:42-46
Blessed be the name of the Lord—for it is given unto us to know the mysteries of the kingdom (Matthew 13:11) hence we are not permitted to live by assumptions, especially of things pertaining to the Kingdom of Heaven. While not all assumptions are bad or costly, in this rotulus, we will be addressing some costly assumptions held by Christians. Remember, God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). In King James’ version of the Holy Scriptures (KJV), the word “assumption” does not appear, however a substitute for the word is “supposing” and it appears seven times.

SPEAKING IN TONGUES

Just before Christ left this same world, he left his current and would-be followers a couple of promises: one of them is: “and these SIGNS shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with NEW tonguesMark 16:17. Note the words “SIGNS’’ and “NEW’’.

UPON THIS ROCK

The word is God is Yes and Amen! Outside that revelation, you will grope and yet—you won’t find meaning to the Word. I want us to check the scriptures concerning the belief, widely propagated by the Roman Catholic church and her daughters, that the church was built on Apostle Peter. God bless you as you follow with an open heart!

18. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

—Matthew 16:18
